I hope each of you had a wonderful week last week. If you have been a student of the Word you probably were very familiar with the two verses we memorized, if not I hope you loved thinking about the majesty and the creativity of our eternal God. These are wonderful verses to get us started and remind us of what a wonderful Creator we serve. Also, these are great verses to teach to our children. Children these days need to know the truth of creation and have it engraved upon their hearts before they are exposed to the theory of evolution which is being taught earlier and earlier in our schools.
This week I want us to continue with John 1. Verses 3-5 are a natural continuation of verses 1 and 2. As you learn these new verses, remember to connect them with the previous two to give context and meaning. The next verse is found a little later in the passage, but really connects to these verses. It seems very natural to memorize these together. I know there is more content this week and it is more of a challenge, but let's work hard and commit to learning these verses together.
May God show Himself faithful as we seek Him.
John 1:3-5 (NIV)
Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
John 1:14 (NIV)
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:3-5 (NKJV)
All thing were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:14(NKJV)
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
